Highlighting Spring 2017s Share Your Shutters Winner05/08/2017Kasey Udy Spring is blowing by here in St. George, but we haven’t forgotten about our regularly scheduled Share Your Shutters contest. Our winner for Spring is Tonya S., who submitted a few photos of her home that truly show the benefit shutters can bring to a room. Tonya’s house features some gorgeous new Polywood® plantation shutters in her dining room. Since her shutters are closed, you can really get a glimpse of how well plantation shutters can really help you control light. Envision that dining room with a slightly softer light; it would be the perfect setting for a romantic candlelit dinner, right? With the right shutters in your house like Tonya has, you can capture that exact mood at any time of day. Take a look at how the white shutters complement the white trim near the floors and the white ceiling. Those neutral tones let the black wood furniture and the hardwood floor’s natural color stand out even more. She didn’t stop at just one photo of her shutters, though. She also shared a photo of her brand-new sliding barn door shutter! There are a number of reasons we love this barn door shutter. First off, it looks fantastic. The homegrown look of the wood panel with that smooth jet black frame up top give an enduring yet relaxed look. What we like even more than the shutters’ looks is how practical it is. Her barn door shutter sits on the front of the window frame, so it can control the light levels while still letting the window operate. Because the shutter sits on the front the frame, Tonya can still make use of her window sill. For example, if she wanted to set some flowers on the sill to get sunlight, she could even close the shutter so it can catch some rays while still blocking sun glare from outside. According to Tonya this is the third time they’ve chosen window treatments from Sunburst Shutters, and we want to thank her for continuing to choose us for all her window design needs. For being selected as our Share Your Shutters winner this time, Tonya will get a $100 gift card to a local restaurant. Are your new shutters beautiful enough to be featured here? We want to see them! Share a photo of your favorite room with shutters with the hashtag #ShareYourShutters, or submit a photo to our Facebook page. We’d love to showcase some shutters from a changeme next time!
